I want to thank Barbara Sawhill, Barbara Ganley, Sean (and Ben-great tech support!) for giving those of us at UCONN the opportunity to participate in the live E-Learning Networks discussion on Barbara Ganley’s and Barbara Sawhill’s recently published lead article in the Knowledge Tree e-journal, “Making Ground: How have transformed teaching pedagogies taken advantage of participatory media to increase learner engagement?.” hosted from Australia. The interactive discussion really engaged us and gave us lots of new ideas for using blogs in our teaching and learning. The follow-up Skype conversation with both Barbara’s and Sean allowed us to explore further some questions raised in the Elluminate session. Using Elluminate and Skype to connect with others outside our classroom really brought home the promise of these tools, when used appropriately. Thanks for a great session we’re still talking about.
