Second Life and L2 acquisition

I have invited our colleague Doug Canfield, from the University of Tennesee-Knoxville, to come on board and blog a bit here in LLU-land about what he knows about using Second Life for language learning. I have blogged about it here, but Doug presented a compelling keynote at the IALLT conference at Tufts last summer on the topic, will soon be publishing an article based on that keynote, and has continued to do research in the area of effective uses of this tool for teaching.

Barbara has been working for a small liberal arts college in the cornfields of Ohio for about 15 years. In addition to teaching Spanish she runs a somewhat unconventional language center.
