Faculty development — in this case, helping faculty on your campus gain a better understanding of how specific technologies or tools could improve their teaching and/or their students learning — is a tough but important nut to crack. We all want to provide meaningful opportunities, but setting up even a single workshop can bring up multiple barriers to success. How do we find a time that works for most people, including the adjuncts who are teaching more and more classes with less and less time available for grading, let alone professional development? How do we make the topics both interesting and timely? How do we get faculty to come and be engaged? What does “success” look like, anyway?
Come share your stories, your thoughts, your experiences with building faculty development programs on campus. (We’ll talk about staff development in a future session.) LLU Live #17 will take place on Thursday, February 13th, at 4:30PM Eastern (2130 GMT). (Note that this time is different from our usual 4PM Eastern / 2100 GMT start time!) For instructions on how to join, please visit the Live Events page. We hope to see you on Thursday!
