Scribblenauts Remix

Scribblenauts Remix is an interesting and very creative iOS game available in English and German. Simply switch your iOS language settings and the game will load in the chosen language. There’s also an Android available.

The game is a series of scenarios, each of which gives the player tasks that can be solved in a variety of ways. You move the character with your finger and type in names of items, which then magically appear. For example, if you type something like “Leiter” (ladder or leader in English), the app asks you which one you mean. For “ladder”, you can choose between a metal and and a wooden one. You can also add adjectives: ask for a big yellow dog, and one will be on the screen shortly thereafter. It’s quite amazing how many different items the game was able to generate when I tried it out.

It’s a fun puzzle game, for which language input is essential. The app is 99 cents. There are also similar versions of the game (with different titles) available for Nintendo DS, Wii, and the steam store for Windows computers.
