The 7 principles…with technology

Several years back the AAHE (American Association for Higher Education) came out with a treatise entitled “the 7 principles of good practice in undergraduate education.” the article addresses how technology could implement those principles.

Barbara, I love your blog! I’m going to try some of your (through Todd @ Dickinson) suggestions for recording Skype, because I’m having just enough glitches with Gizmo to be annoyed.

On the Chickering/Ehrmann article, BYU has an excellent summary of the original 7 principles article by Chickering and Gamson at http://www.byu.edu/fc/pages/tchlrnpages/7princip.html, which has links that break the principles down into very specific practices to implement. It would be nice for someone who had the time to do it to do something similar with the Chickering/Ehrmann article, a technology-specific breakdown of specific practices for the 7 principles.

For language technologists, there is of course the article by Margaret Gonglewski in Foreign Language Annals 32 entitled “Linking the Internet to the National Standards for Foreign Language Learning.” Our EDCI students have found that to he a helpful resource.
