Binge watching and language learning

We are winding down into the holiday season, and that time when after all of the hullabaloo is over and the dishes are done, there is nothing I would rather do than crash on the couch and binge watch TV series.  Currently I am working my way through the entire series of The West Wing on Netflix and when I can I build up a stash of more current TV shows to watch on Netflix and Hulu as well.

This past week I discovered that shows like How To Get Away with Murder on Netflix have subtitle tracks in other languages as well as audio over dubs in two forms of Spanish and Portuguese.  I discovered this by mindlessly clicking and voilá, I was pleasantly surprised.

"How to Get A way Wioth Murder" on Hulu in Spanish and Portuguese

Annelise fala muito bem o português y el español

To find other shows, and the languages that are subtitled, go here.  While this is only the list of text subtitles, once you choose a show you can also see what languages are also available as an overdub.   (I found German, Portuguese, Spanish, French and in some cases English-Audio Description (that is, a description of the actions in the scenes by the characters for the sight impaired).

Happy multi-lingual binge watching to you!
